It should be noted that in addition to his other rail experience, Dean Johnson has 10 years experience as an Independent Safety & Mechanical Inspector authorized by the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. In this capacity, he performed safety and mechanical inspections on government and privately owned freight cars, passenger cars and locomotives to ensure compliance with standards and operating practices as set forth by the FRA, The Association of American Railroads, Amtrak, and the American Public Transit Association.
